LINKS! (to your right -----> )
So its been awhile i know.

But here i am going to attempt to begin the long road back.

Just so you dont get confused though the following pictures are from about 2 months ago almost. yea i know i know. Im in london, as you can see from the Trashbags blog, we have flat which is great! Now for a job,, at the moment im working in a HR department, yea exactly like i had dreamed. But its keeping me fed and slightly drinked so it will do until someone finally realises how great i am!

But i present to you possibly one of the sporting highlights of my life!

AUSTRALIA VS the then world Champions BRAZIL!!! WOOOOOOOOO

This is the main Strip of munich - Marienplatz! much time spent here, and as you can see from this photo taken about midday! wow so many Australians!!!!!!

A fellow Aussie from Brissie i befriended while we watched the football in the German Equivalent of Grace Bros (sorry.. myer). Yes and that is the 1 euro henieken we bought in thier food section. Crazy drinking beer in a shopping centre while watching football in there tv section! haha

Oh herrow ALLIANZ ARENA! AND YES I GOT TO GO INSIDE! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Note im almost wetting my pants with excitement in this photo, can you tell!

Just in case you didnt believe me.....

Apparently i wasnt the only aussie who thought seeing thier heros play brazil was a good idea...

So we lost, but we put on a good show and seeing players of that calibre playing my team at a global event in a major european stadium is something i will not soon forget.

Note..
Sorry bout the lack of footy photos but since i was living in a train station at the time my camera battery was on the downhill. Dont worry i got photos but not as many and not as good as i would have liked.

CESKY KRUMLOV!!!!!!!!

Three b's things really sum up this place.

1. Beautiful - Everywhere you went you needed you camera, absolutely stunning
2. Beer - Consumption was high, had a massive one with these 2 germans we met who offered to drive us to munich the next day! Great only 3 hours by car!
3. Bitch to get out of!!!!! - Due to the massive one, the new friendly germans were too sick to drive the next day. Hmmmm oops As a result a mammoth trip begining at 5pm in Cesky Krumlov and ending at 6am in Munich the morning of the Aust vs Brazil game. It included a maccas run in the dodgiest place in the czech republic, seeing the sights of Austria at 2 in the morning before trying to nap on the benches in the train station and chris not showering for 40 hours. mmmmmmm

Told you it was nice

"How the hell do we get out of this place!"

OLOMOUC!

OK first to admit i had no idea how to pronounce this place (ol-a-mots...sorta) let alone know where it was or what it had but Tooles cousin owned a hostel here (and i have to say, one of the best ive stayed in, except for the stairs....). But blimey i was impressed. It was everything the czech republic had to offer (history, authentic czechs, cheap beer, beautiful scenery) but only in a small intimate and hidden away little town. Good times and highly recommended to all!!!!!

Oh and stay at poets corner if you go! Plug for you Francy!

Ahh the famous 'fun boy' sundae. Apparently these warm raspberry and icecream sundaes are a town specialty. But when two grown men at the same table order them in the middle of the afternoon. The whole restaurant seems to look and the czech wait staff smile for the first time since the USSR collapsed. As a result me and toole changed the name to fun boy sundae. It seemed to take off.

N.B. yes i am refering to myself when i say grown man and i would appreciate no derogatory comments to the contrary please. I think there is enough material there already for you to work with. Regards.

PRAGUE!

So first days sightseeing! Cant really say we made it that far. Cheap beer, cheap food, big screen football and dutch supporters saw me take alot of photos from the same seated position

This was 90 degrees to the right of the above photo...

and this is 180 degrees from the top one.... i think. it was a bit later on in the day

But then the next day me and toolba got out and saw more of what the beautiful prague had to offer!

Another day another guard. This guy was breathing so heavy i thought he was about to fall on me, cant blame him, loves to be about 35 degrees and dressed in a wollen suit!

Lovely church inside the Castle grounds!

But that was the morning,,,,,,,,the afternoon was the great afternoon and night forever known as 3-1 3-1 3-1 3-1 3-1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow what an afternoon and night, so many aussies coming out of the woodwork, and what a game, what a way to win. it couldnt have ended any better, right up there with the qualifier!

An optimistic toolba and new friend dax before the game!

After the 2nd goal, or the third, who cared WE WON!!! WOOOOOOOOOO

Did i mention we won?

Turning our loyalties to the czechs in the next game!

and lastly................................

Sure she isnt asleep in the gutter, but still.................................

True Clap style

so here is me, passing yet another day of doing nothing, cursing that i work nights and wasting time and pounds in my local internet cafe. About an hour ago two girls sat next to me, from thier distinctive accents i deducted that they were from New Zealand, im going with the South Island. Seem to be normal, average, New Zealand girls, unsuspecting of any foul play and not really encuoraging any sort of Strange Behaviour. All just the same old, internet, quick chat to mon, Cafe manager sprays Toilet Freshener throughout cafe, kill time kill time

Then incomes a lovely chap. Walking stick, guitar, and general odour of gin and whisky in tow. He picks up his dry cleaning, yes im in the internet cafe....... and then wanders over to the forementioned NZ birds. The conversation then went something along these lines....

Man: Hi My name is Running Water,
Girl: giggle
Man: I have just picked up my fantastic jacket that the lord gave to me
Girl; giggle
Man: i was wondering if you would like to meet up with me later
Girl: giggle, no, giggle
Man: Oh well, i would play you a song on my guitar but i dont think this place has the right acoustics, would you like to walk out with me now....
Girl: giggle, no, giggle
Man: oh well, i just want to say that you are so fine that i wish you were mine,
Girl: giggle
Man: are you sure you dont want to have a drink with me?
Girl: No, im fine,,,,,,,,giggle
Man: ok then , just remember that my name is running water, and i am yours. I hope our paths cross again. Man leaves, taking dry cleaning, walking stick, guitar and general stench of gin with him.

Moral of the Story..... Stale Gin smells better then toilet freshener

My brush with fame!

So heres me just walking through this really large building just outside of Baker Street Tube. Some bird at the door took 15 pound off me which i was a bit miffed about, but it seemed quite worth it when i realised that i had entered some super club that only allows super famous people, world leaders, apparently 'dead' historical figures and thousands of euro trash with large backpacks! Got a few cheeky happy snaps of me with some of the lads hanging out in this club. Called after some short old french bird apparently, madame taussads or something,,,

Me and the DL! He thought i was hillarious obviously!

Just before i smacked his pretty boy ass back to 2003.

Just passing on a message from the Governor General - I met him you know!

Me and the boys. Poor Paul, hes having women trouble. I was his rock. John and George were really quite...wierd. Didnt talk to Ringo....

The master of pop. Big man Robbie. He was so happy to see me!

THE BUL! aka Istanbul!

Loveeed the bul,,, luuurvved the bul

Had heaps of fun here, it was good times all around. All the touristy spots were definatley worth the price of admission, the nightlife was great, good food and just a general good feel about the place. Experimented with Rose tea and water pipes, drunk too much efes, ate (and swore!) with the Turks, went to the bungalow and hugos of istanbul with the trendy citizens of istanbul and it was all broken up with a great trip to Gallipoli (see previous post). So yea, go the bul it rocks socks!

Mon sucking it in on the water pipe!

Me and Nathan one of two Melbournites we met who are currently living in Germany! See you in Munich kids! Thats the turkish tea cups by the way, whack hey!

Basillica Cistern - hidden under the town of istanbul! Was a crazy way of getting water in the old days and with some lights added in in recent times it made the amatuer camera man look pro!

My travelling companions glamming up before heading into the blue mosque! Looking good ladies. Being a man, my hair is allowed to grace the mosque.

Me and burner out side said blue Mosque!

Anzac Day. Well i know it a was long time ago now, but i still maintain that is is one of the best things we have done this trip. Very cold not much sleep but hearing and seeing what those poor bastards had to do at the exact same time 91 years ago was a real wake up call to the horrors of war and how lucky we are today. The hills that these poor bastards alot the same age or younger then me had to manage. With packs and guns and not to mention turks shooting at them, its just amazing that they made it as far as they did and a testament to the Anzac spirit. Sorta stuff that makes you proud to be Australian. We actually went to two services. The Dawn service of course on Anzac Cove. Very moving, very solemn and great to see the 2000 or so young Turkish people there. We then walked the big hill up to Lone Pine for the Australian only service. Once again, a great service but luckily this time a bit warmer. We then went for a walk through the many cemeteries and found some trenches still there from when it all happened so long ago. The astonishing thing was how close the Anzac and Turkish trenches actually got to each other. Apparently grenades were able to be thrown 3 times back and forth before they actually exploded.

Oh and i met the Governor General! (see below photo!) and i also got interviewed for the melbourne age! ( http://www.theage.com.au/news/World/Respectful-solemn-service-at-Gallipoli/2006/04/25/1145861310735.html ) Was quite a big day for chris!

On the streets of Cappadocia (sung to the tune of Streets of Philidelphia!)

Welcome the the middle of Turkey! Got to Goreme in Cappadocia to find a town of fairy chimneys and cave houses! Hopped into our CAVE with was great! Those things a great, cool in the day, warm at night! Perfect!
Went on Super massive walk through about a billion valleys. Ok not really 4 i think there were. We got lost afew times so i rekon we saw a few more. Honey valley was probably my favourite though. Sorry this means nothing to you, but hey, its my blog!
Next day we headed out to check out the old churches around the town. Was pretty crazy seeing thousand of year old paintings and churches set up inside the sides of mountains. Pretty resourceful huh!

Mum, i know i know there are about a million spelling mistakes.......
